Anyway, now to business. Countertenor business. For those of you who do not have the time or perhaps the inclination for that, here is the basic stuff. Back in the old days (by which I do not mean pre-Led Zeppelin I mean pre-18th.Century) women were not encouraged to sing in church and therefor composers wrote for men who could and would sing in an un-naturally high falsetto voice.
